None-Intrusive Inspection (NII) Module

The Non-Intrusive Inspection (NII) module of AIMSOFTSTM integrity management software for pressure equipment and vessels is based on HOIS-RP-103, published in February 2020, formerly DNVGL-RP-G103. NII provides an alternative to intrusive visual inspection (IVI) that avoids risky entry into equipment and costly production line shutdowns. By using this module, the following can be avoided:

Vessel isolation-1

Confined space entry-2

Vessel decontamination-3

Using AIMSOFTSTM-NII, the site operator can make informed decisions about whether or not to open a tank, contributing to safe, efficient and cost-effective maintenance regimes. Although this module is integrated with RBI software, this module can be used independently from RBI software.

Damage Mechanisms Module Based on API 571

Damage mechanisms are mechanical, chemical, physical, or due to material strength reduction. Damage mechanisms lead to defects that affect the integrity of process equipment such as pressure vessels, pipes, heat exchangers, towers, reactors, pipelines, atmospheric storage tanks, etc.

AIMSOFTSTM includes API 571(Damage Mechanisms), API 581(RBI) and DNVGL-RP-F116 and includes additional damage mechanisms based on API 579, making it the most comprehensive interpretative and predictive software for risk assessment (RBI). For example, Erosion, Microbiologically Influenced Corrosion (MIC) and Creep are not covered in API 581. However, they are included in AIMSOFTSTM.

Pipeline module

AIMSOFTSTM has a module for pipelines in different environments including water, soil and air. The subsea module is based on a combination of DNV-RP-F116 and API 581.

For internal Damage mechanisms, API 581 is used, which includes the following:

Thinning (Internal Corrosion)-1

Cracking & Mechanical-2

Metallurgical Damage-3

External Damage-4

Apart from the models calculated in AIMSOFTSTM based on API 581, this software also includes all Damage mechanisms according to API 571, DNV-RP-F116 and other industry standards, including:

Design, Fabrication & Installation-1

Third-Party Damage-2

Structural Damage-3

Natural Hazard-4

Incorrect Operation-5

Integrity Operating Window (IOW) Module

This module is called INTEGRITY OPERATING WINDOWS. This module is prepared based on the latest version of API RP 584. The following activities are defined in the software in the IWO module based on API 584.

  • Collected data will be used in the re-evaluation of corrosion rates in the implementation of IOW.

  • All Damage mechanisms previously identified during the corrosion rate reassessment will be used within the IOW range. However, there will be a specific investigation of damage mechanisms in the IOW stage.
